Receptionist User Guide

pmsXchange v2 partners developing to the pmsXchange Reservation API receive access to our Reservation testing tool called 'Receptionist'. Receptionist allows you as the API partner to trigger simulated reservations that are similar to those you'd expect in production. NOTE: The login credentials to access Receptionist are provided in your 'Development Pack' email.

What does Receptionist allow me to do?

Receptionist allows developers and testers working on the pmsXchange API to trigger reservations for processing and simulate different reservations you might receive in our production environment. The environment also allows you to trigger 'Modifications' and 'Cancellations' to reservations you've generated within a 12 hour period.

How should I use Receptionist?

  1. First thing you'll need to do, is generate the reservations you want to work with. Once reservations are generated, it will usually take no longer than 60 seconds for them to be available for download. You should be working with reservations that are prefixed with 'pmsXchange v2'.
  2. To capture the reservation data, you'll need to activate your OTA_ReadRQ service, process the reservation from Receptionist (based on the OTA_ResRetrieveRS we supply), then confirm the reservation with your OTA_NotifReportRQ (see Retrieve & Confirm Use Cases)
  3. Once a reservation has been processed, you can trigger Modification and Cancellation messages to the reservations you've created in Receptionist within the last 12 hours.
