SMX For Apps

What is SiteMinder Exchange (SMX)

SMX is a platform that allows PMSs and applications to connect to each other with minimal integration effort. By integrating to SMX they can access multiple PMSs or applications and broaden their customer base.

SMX is a product that is aimed at PMSs or applications, we do not sell to or deal with the hotels.

An example of how SMX works:

There are a number of applications available to hoteliers to maximise profits and manage their guests.

Once a hotel starts using an application, such as those above, they need to send that application all their reservations and guest details. But how?

Currently an application will need to integrate with the hotel's PMS, they will then receive the reservations from the hotel's PMS. The more hotels that sign up for their application, the more PMSs they need to integrate with. This can take a lot of time to build all of these integrations.

SiteMinder Exchange is a platform that integrates with multiple PMS systems. This means that an application can integrate with SMX and get access to reservation data from multiple PMSs. They can build ONE integration that allows them to connect to 100s of PMSs.

This also works the other way. The PMS can integrate just once, with SMX, and connect to 100s of applications. This saves both the applications and the PMSs a LOT of development time and allows them to grow their hotel customer base very quickly.

In SMX we refer to the PMS as the Publisher because they publish the data.

The applications are referred to as Subscribers because they subscribe to the data.

SiteMinder Exchange (SMX) is an any-to-any data exchange that consists multiple API's to allow applications to acquire data from the hoteliers PMS without the need for proprietary integrations.

SMX currently consists of the following APIs:
