Reservations (OTA_HotelResNotif)

General

There is always a small chance that the last available room is booked by multi booking channel at the same time, this is something can't avoid. When this happens, SiteConnect will accept both reservations and deliver them to the property. Usually, the property will workout with the OTA to decide how to allocate the overbooked reservation directly.

A: SiteConnect still accepts reservations. This is very un normal.

No, when a reservation is made, you send the details through to The Channel Manager via SiteConnect. At this point, the reservation is already considered confirmed and valid. When we receive the reservation we update the hotelier's inventory in The Channel Manager, distribute the new inventory values to all of the hoteliers connected OTAs (including your booking channel), and pass the information on to the hotelier's property management system (PMS) if the hoteliers PMS is integrated with The Channel Manager.

Yes, we only provide acknowledgement of receipt for all @ResStatus (Commit, Modify and Cancel) requests.

If there is an issue in the reservation XML format (incorrect element/attribute etc.) or if the property ID (HotelCode) is not found in our database.
SiteConnect will accept reservations even if the hotel does not have enough availability or if the rate plans are not mapped in the SiteMinder Channel Manager.
